Services

We're pleased to offer the following services at Cheaha Animal Hospital:

Dental Care

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use state-of-the-art high speed ultrasonic units to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup.  One of our doctors will preform a full dental exam and any extractions that may be needed.

Digital Radiography

Digital Radiography (X-rays) help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. We are equipped to take x-rays of any sized animal. In addition, we are able to perform radiographic contrast studies, such as barium studies, cystograms, and intravenous pyelograms.

Emergency and Critical Care

In any emergency, seconds count. Our experienced staff can administer the ABCs of basic life support - Airway, Breathing, Circulation/Cardiac compressions. Emergency care is offered during regular business hours.

Hospice / Euthanasia Services

Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. We help our clients decide when is the "right time." Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client. We offer cremation with standard and custom urns.

Immunization and Wellness Care

We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spays and neuters; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.

Internal Medicine

We are trained in the diagnosis and treatment in all areas of internal medicine, including: Cardiology; Ophthalmology; Neurology; Dermatology; Gastroenterology; Orthopedic surgery; Oncology; Endocrinology; among others.

Laser Surgery

Surgical CO2 lasers provide an alternative to traditional surgery. Lasers can replace scalpels in many surgical procedures, and are useful for a wide range of conditions, such as cyst, tumor, and wart removal, general surgery, and preferred method  in declawing. As the surgical laser beam penetrates the patient's tissue, it cauterizes blood vessels and seals nerve endings, the  result is less pain, less bleeding, and less swelling. They reduce risk of infection and result in less post-operative discomfort.

Orthopedic Surgery

Our hospital is equipped to perform many orthopedic surgeries, such as internal and external bone pinning and plating for fracture repair, correction of anterior cruciate ligament rupture, femoral head osteotomy, reduction of dislocations of elbow and hip joints, arthrodesis, and bone biopsies. Dr. Wyatt has many years of experience and advanced training in performing orthopedic surgery and soft tissue.

Specialized Surgery

Our veterinary surgeons include specialists able to perform everything from routine surgeries, such as spays and neuters, to specialized surgeries, such as orthopedic and eye surgeries.

Surgery

We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All surgical patients are carefully screened to ensure safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: fully trained veterinary and technical staff to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; ECG and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full in house blood testing. We will be happy to refer to a board-certified veterinary specialist available if your pet needs specialized care

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.  In most instances pain medications are continued post operatively.
